To call it "The Moloka’i Ocean Challenge" merely hints at the undertaking of this crossing. Although it is only 15 miles between Maui and Molokai, the Pailolo Channel is one of the windiest and roughest of the Hawaiian Island channels. Competitors, sailling, Stand Up Paddle Boarders, Wind Surfers, Kite Surfers, Kite Canoes, and Kite Catamarans, made the crossing, all in support of "Youth in Motion" on Moloka’i...

NEW for this year, we are asking teams to be more creative and find other forms of non motorized crafts that can be added to the list of previous crafts. Relay formats also work well which helps with the cost. Youth in Motion has now formed their SUP relay team for 2011. This event is all in support of YOUTH on MOLOKAI and the individuals choice of youth and or youth realted programs and or organizations. More information on the breakdown of how funds are distributed is on the Facebook site, with the link below.

The Molokai Challenge will consist of two courses, the first from Maui to Molokai (Kamalo Harbor) and the second from Kamalo, Molokai to Kaunakakai Harbor. Teams can sign up for either course or if they are up for it DO BOTH.
